This unique event is a sell-out every year bringing together hundreds of high-profile guests from many sectors, including the most prominent business and community leaders, government, media, and prestigious social figures in Ottawa/Gatineau.
Over the last 29 years, Evening in the Maritimes guests and sponsors have helped to raise funds to support people with disabilities in Ottawa. Support from event attendees, donor and sponsors empower people with disabilities to build lives of meaning and joy.
Hosted by ABLE2: Support for People with Disabilities
ABLE2 is a charitable organization in Ottawa with programs and services that empower persons of all ages across the disability spectrum and their families, to build lives of meaning and joy as valued members of our community. Supporters of ABLE2 help to provide growth and development, facilitate independence, reduce barriers and vulnerability, and improve mental and physical health for persons living with disabilities in the Ottawa community. Established in 1974 as Citizen Advocacy Ottawa, the organization rebranded as ABLE2 in 2020, to better reflect its evolving mission and broader scope of work. In 2024, ABLE2 celebrated its 50th anniversary. ABLE2’s programs and services have been vital in ensuring that every person, regardless of ability, is seen as able, important, and valued and has opportunities to live a fulfilling life. ABLE2 has supported more than 250,00 people with disabilities and families by providing direct-impact programming and services to facilitate growth, development and independence, reduce vulnerability, build skills and remove barriers. In Ottawa, more than 500 people volunteer their time and skills with ABLE2, contributing an average of 16,000 hours yearly.

Developed by the Arctic Eider Society with the Canadian Museum of Nature, it celebrates the community’s enduring connection to the land, sea, and each other.
No Place at Corridor 45|75
No Place is an exhibition by Ottawa-Gatineau artist Shannon Whittle featuring a series of reproduced and reconfigured paintings of imagined landscapes. Drawing on historical landscape painting, media imagery, and personal experience, Whittle explores the delicate interconnections of ecosystems threatened by the climate crisis and human activity.
