As part of Canadian Independent Bookstore Day, Ottawa’s independent bookstores are joining forces for the third annual indie bookstore crawl — a celebration of local literary culture and the vibrant energy that only a community of book lovers can bring. Participating this year are Books on Beechwood (35 Beechwood Avenue), Mill Street Books (52 Mill Street, Almonte), Octopus Books (116 Third Avenue), Perfect Books (258 Elgin Street), Singing Pebble Books (206 Main Street), The Spaniel’s Tale Bookstore (1131 Wellington Street West), Westboro Books (314 Richmond Road) and World of Maps (1191 Wellington Street West). Pick up a passport and collect stamps at any 7 of the 8 participating bookstores to enter a draw for a $200 prize to spend at local bookstores. Everyone is welcome and no purchase is necessary.
